Ryan Ayers
I received my BFA in painting from the Savannah College of Art and Design in 2008. I've been in Austin since then, making as much art as I can.
My art is a transcription of my life, of my experiences, and of a sort of bizarre collective unconscious. I usually only start off with a very loose idea of what I want a painting to be, and then let it evolve as I go along, so the painting itself becomes a process of discovery. Often I don't know exactly where my ideas come from, and only grow to understand the subject matter, and my reason for painting it, through the act of painting..
