I spent a portion of my childhood in rural Colorado playing amongst goats, rabbits, chickens, and dogs. Much of my inspiration comes from my early loves of open spaces, mountains, insects and creatures I encountered during this time. When I wasn’t outside, I was writing stories and drawing in my room. I knew I wanted to be an artist from a young age.
I came to Austin over 20 years ago. I went to the University of Texas, and became an art teacher. Now I split my time among teaching and painting. I make art because I am alive. I put all of my joy, heartache, and hope on the page. It is my meditation practice. When I am not busy teaching or creating I enjoy hiking and swimming with my growing family and sweet pug Norman.
