I grew up in Anchorage, Alaska, where the wilderness is still a very real thing and nature often comes to your front doorstep. I started drawing and painting at a young age, and quickly became highly influenced by the wild beauty around me. My work today is still impacted by my memories of this Alaskan wilderness, perhaps even more so as my own memories start to fade away, and the land itself is changing drastically.
I graduated from Kansas City Art Institute with honors in 2009 with a B.F.A. in painting, and studied interdisciplinary art and ecology at the Burren College of Art, in Ballyvaughan, Ireland. I moved to Austin in 2010, and fell in love with its creative culture and heat.
