How is this work made?

Landry McMeans's stencil paintings are considered multiple originals. Each painting inevitably comes out unique with its own character, and given the process, new colorways are an exciting way to extend and transform the life of each design, as well as entertain her passion for color. The stencils have a limited lifetime. Anywhere from 10-15 pieces can be achieved with simpler compositions, and around 5 pieces can be produced from more elaborate compositions. The temporary nature of the stencil paintings is a unique facet of her practice, and pushes her to constantly evolve and create fresh designs.

Each piece by Landry McMeans is titled, signed and editioned in the margins. Unframed pieces are available upon request.
